What makes a pool?

A swimming pool can be thought of as a living individual and just like our different body parts work together to perform specific functions, the various pool components work together to perform the big task of providing fun, exercise and relaxation to us. Here is a list of the common pool components and their functions:

Pool-Shell
Pool shell, like the human bone structure, is the basic support structure for the other organs (read equipment) on which these components physically rest and is an important factor in the appearance / longevity of your pool. The shape of this shell decides the final appearance of your water heaven. Concrete is the most popular material for pool shell construction and is perfectly suited for custom made freeform pools.

Pool-Finish
Pool finish can be linked to the human skin, as it is the most visible part. Finishes like tiles / pebble / mosaics are permanent and expensive, but impart an impressive look when underwater, whereas marblite or sand and cement plaster are the cheaper options. Another good pool finish is vinyl liner that has a working life of 7-15 years (depending upon type of liner and maintenance|) after which it can be replaced giving you the opportunity to give a new look to the pool.

Pool-Pipes
Pool pipes are just like human veins and arteries carrying the vital fluid, in this case pool water. The correct sizing of these pipes is paramount to proper functioning; imagine a human body with incorrectly sized blood vessels.

Pool-Pump
Pool pump performs the same function as the human heart. Circulation of water is essential to carry out any cleaning / disinfections process and the pump provides a driving force to pool water, which can be thought of as human blood. Having said that, unlike blood the pool water does not carry any oxygen, only a soothing touch.

Pool-Filter
Pool filter is similar to the purification organs of human body like lungs, kidneys etc. All the suspended impurities released in the pool water by bathers and surroundings are retained by the pool filter andexpelled from the system during the backwash process. Again, correct sizing is important.

Pool-Chemical-Doser
The chemical dosing equipment introduce essential nutrients (read chemicals) into the pool water. These chemicals combine with the harmful impurities present in water to form harmless compounds that can then be removed using the various cleaning methods.

Pool-Control-Panel
Pool control panel is the brain of the entire pool system, it ensures the complete synchronization of all the pool components that is necessary to extract maximum efficiency and full energy saving benefits available from the latest filtration and heating equipment.
